August Favourites

Hey guys!

So it’s that time again, when I tell ye all the bits I’ve been loving this month. August was quite a busy month for me, catching up with friends, nights out and lots of sleepovers. I left preparing for school until the very last weekend, just to try and make the summer stretch a little more! So yeah August was fun and this summer was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Anyway here are a few of my favourite things (during the month of August).

Hair
Guess who’s back, back again, scrunchies back, tell a friend. Ok you can all scream at me now, I just couldn’t help myself. Though it’s not like they’re even a new fad because scrunchies have been back for about 6 months now, but nothing wrong with a bitta Eminem is there? I actually started wearing them because whenever I tie the front section of my hair back (i.e pretty much every day) bobbles always get caught in my hair so I thought a scrunchie would be safer, plus maybe a few bonus style points.

Clothing
If you saw my Mini Clothing Haul post, you’ll know that I’ve been adoring this shirt. It’s really big, comfy and matches a lot of outfits. It’s perfect to just throw on over something casual or to make a dressy outfit a bit more ‘grungy’ I guess!

Make-up
I bought this Rimmel lipstick in ‘Coral in Gold’ earlier on in the year but, as it’s quite a summery shade, I only started using it this month. It’s got a little more sparkle in it than I’d usually like but it’s a really nice orange/coral shade, perfect to wear with white I think.
I wasn’t sure if I should include the No.7 powder in ‘Fair’ or not because I’ve been using and loving it for the last few months but I think in the sweaty and oily summer days I have a new found appreciation for this mattifier!

Show/Series
So I FINALLY jumped on the Breaking Bad bandwagon. Is that even a phrase? I think it is, or if not it is now! For some reason I thought I wouldn’t like the show but I was really wrong. I’m on season 3 now though my progress is starting to get a bit slower because of school. Jesse’s my fave ugh he’s so cute I just wanna hug him.

Movie
A movie I saw during August was Papertowns. I’d read the book and I think it’s probably my favourite John Green book. I liked the film, it was good but not AMAZING. The ending was sort of changed, I think to make it more satisfying. Nat Wolf and Cara Delevigne both did a good job in my opinion though.

Music
A song I listened to a lot, especially at the start of August is ‘Jealous’ by Nick Jonas. Good to see a Jonas bro in the charts, bit of a throwback to my childhood but I think it’s actually a really great song.
Also this month I fell IN LOVE with Years&Years. I already really liked Kings but I listened to their album Communion and omg it’s amazing! I listened to it on repeat for days. Stand out tracks: Take Shelter and Gold (I'm not even sure if these are my top 2, it was hard to pick cause I love every song so much!)
Another group I listened to a lot was 21 Pilots. My cousin recommended that I listen to them and I’m very grateful she did! I just really love their style of music.

Book
I read One Day last month. I’d say I’d rate it about a 5-6/10 (that’s quite good by the way, I’ve read a lot of books!). I enjoyed it, it wasn’t quite a ‘can’t put down’ book but it was a good read. The ending was quite unexpected to say the least! (no spoilers, don’t worry!!)

YouTuber
Well this month I still watched lots of Dan and Phil, emphasis on the Dan (yup still obsessed) but I also discovered the Becoming YouTube series, by Ben Cook. It’s a documentary but with lots of quirky ‘YouTubey’ bits. It’s really well made and so interesting to watch, plus it stars tons of YouTubers! The series is actually a few years old so I don’t know how I hadn’t watched it earlier. If you’re into YouTube and YouTubers then I’d definitely recommend you watch it.

Well, those are the things I’ve been loving in the sunny (haha in Ireland? That’s a joke) month of August. Please recommend any products I should use, music I should listen to, books I should read and all that kind of stuff in the comments, I’d love to hear from ye!!
