3 Easy Plait Hairstyles

Hey guys!

Look we've all been there, you wake up and your hair is frizzy, knotty and just screaming Bad Hair Day. At this point you have two choices, either throw it up in an artistic messy bun, emphasis on the messy, OR you can take a bit of time to turn your BHD into a GHD (who else just realised where the hair straighteners got they're name from?)

I was going to make this a 'How To' post but it was really tricky to get pictures showing what I was doing and also braiding is hard to describe! Though I could do a future post on how to do these plaits, once I've worked on my describing skills.

So, this is what I started out with.. ya a bit messy.

1. The Fishtail Plait

Probably the easiest technique, it just takes a little while longer to do than a french plait. My tip is to grab very small sections of hair when plaiting, the end result looks more, um, fishtaily...

2. The Pigtail Plaits

This style of plait/braid is becoming more and more popular. I LOVE IT.  It's pretty hard to get the whole double french plait thing right so you'll probably want to practice this a few times to get it perfecto.

3. The French Plait

A classic. This is probably the messiest and worst french plait I have ever done but my arms get tired when I plait (ya PLAITING is and arm workout for me) so I couldn't be bothered to redo it. Everyone knows what they look like anyway, probably the best way to keep your hair out of the way yet also look somewhat decent.

Like I said, it's not a tutorial, more just to give you ideas on how to style your hair. Hopefully this helped you escape a few crazy hair days!
